On July the 4th, 1923, Oliver Brown dedicated the Spring Lake Memorial Community House to honor the veterans of World War I who were citizens of Spring Lake. He donated the Community House and the land on which is stands for the purpose of providing a place for cultural, educational and civic development.
He stated that the future of the Community House would be "in the hands of the friends it makes for itself."
For eighty-eight years the Community House has served the people of the Spring Lake area nobly. During the past thirty-four years especially, it has been the home of the highly acclaimed Spring Lake Theatre Company and a children's Theatre Workshop and Dance Program. This is a very rare place that is constantly alive with the arts, children's programs and civic groups, as well as the Spring Lake Public Library.
The Community House is a non-profit organization; a Charitable Trust completely separate from the Borough of Spring Lake.

For those who are a bit younger, there is an unrivaled mix of children's and youth
activities starting at 9am each weekday morning and continuing with events for teens
into the evening.
But the activities tell just part of the story. Ocean Grove was founded in a prayer
meeting on July 31, 1869 and the land was set aside for the perpetual worship of
Jesus Christ. The mission of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association is to provide
opportunities for spiritual birth, growth, and renewal in a Christian seaside setting.
It is the ministry focus and the firm foundation of Christ that makes Ocean Grove
unique. Every summer since 1869, special memories have been created in Ocean
Grove as old friendships are renewed, new friendships are created, and friends
sharing a season grow closer to their Lord and Savior.
