September 16th – January 1st

Seward Johnson Sculptures will be in Spring Lake!

Almost 60 bronze sculptures from artist Seward Johnson’s series, Celebrating the Familiar, are making their journey across the US for springtime exhibitions, maybe even to a city near you.
These life size sculptures feature figurative works, or bronze “people,” engaged in everyday activities such as reading a newspaper, playing Frisbee, or walking their dogs in a neighborhood park. This series has brought a unique voice to the world of public art, encouraging conversation and turning heads wherever they appear. In the artists’ words, “What I’m trying to do is draw attention to the simple pleasures, to show how much fun life is. That’s why there are so many humorous details in my work.”
You’ll do a double-take at their exquisite detail, and after a good look, you’ll be on your way with a smile and a story to share!
