A holiday tradition returns when the award-winning Monmouth Civic Chorus
sings Messiah and More at the Count Basie Theatre. The Christmas portion
of Handel's beloved oratorio will be performed along with seasonal favorites,
under the baton of Artistic Director Dr. Mark Shapiro. For many music
lovers, it won't be Christmas without it.

- January 1 - New Year's Day Polar Plunge @ The Mad Hatter!
Get 2012 off to a great start by plunging for the breast cancer cure!
The Mad Hatter will be hosting its 4th Annual Polar Bear Plunge on New
Years Day. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. and plungers will hit the
water at 12:30 p.m. $30 registration includes breakfast buffet, a cocktail,
and a shirt! You can pre-register by calling the Mad Hatter or register
that morning. There will be a DJ there to get everyone warmed up before
and after the plunge. Come join hundreds of spectators from the Monmouth
County community to join with or cheer on all the courageous plungers!

Park, 6pm-10pm. Admission: Free Free Free Free - First Saturday of each
month, rain or shine - Trolley Service circling town every 15 minutes
- centered in downtown with live music spreading to the boardwalk and
main street - fun crazy party theme each month, all partnering with
different non-profits organizations. - Eclectic shops and galleries
around town stay open late, some serve cheese and wine - restaurants
and clubs feature monthly specials with some staying open till 2am

- February. 8 - Tim & Diana McCorry Talented local duo will perform
standards & originals featuring Diana's vocal and dramatic talents 10
a.m. Algonquin Theatre.
- February 12 - Marlene VerPlanck Legendary Jazz Singer Will
Feature Romantic Songs from Berlin & Porter The legendary jazz vocalist
Marlene VerPlanck has performed with greats including Frank Sinatra
and Mel Torme. This special Valentine's weekend concert will include
the most romantic songs of all by Cole Porter and Irving Berlin including
"So In Love," "Let's Face The Music and Dance," "Be Careful It's My
Heart," and "I've Got You Under My Skin." Algonquin Theatre.
- February 12 - Algonquin Theatre 3 p.m. Marlene VerPlanck will
pay loving care to the great standards and new songs from our finest
composers in this live concert.
- February 26 & 28 - Algonquin Theatre Proof Winner of the
Pulitzer for Drama and the Tony for Best Play, this remarkable and luminous
play about fathers and daughters, genius and insanity, legacy and truth
is produced by Walnut Street Theatre.

as one of the most well-liked Irish bands over the past seventeen years.
Celebrate the traditional music of Ireland with this incredible concert.
- March 7 - Algonquin Theatre 10 a.m. Marimba Around the World
Greg Giannascoli presents famous melodies from some of the most important
composers from all over the world.
